VERBATIM TEXT
OPENING REMARKS BY
THE HONOURABLE DATO’ SERI
PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA
AT THE BILATERAL MEETING BETWEEN MALAYSIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA
27 OCTOBER 2025
Thank you, Kamsahamnida, President Lee Jae Myung.
Congratulations! A great victory and good for freedom, for justice, for people’s power, in a way. Thank you very much. We’re happy that you are here, although we would like you to come for a proper official visit so that we can honour you, and because the relation between Malaysia and the Republic of Korea has been strong for a long time. Training, education, technology — and you see the construction all over.
And we also wish you well for the APEC Summit. And I said to you that President Donald Trump told me in the car that he’s looking forward very much to visiting Korea, and also to have that very important meeting between him and President Xi Jinping, to try and resolve some outstanding issues.
Other than that, trade, investments, and defence. Our planes will be ready early next year. Thank you very much, it’s on time. We can trust the Koreans; they will get things on time. And we are working in many areas, including infrastructure.
I have mentioned to you my — our — strong position on the ballistic missiles by DPRK.
