VERBATIM TEXT : OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN TO MALAYSIA
JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE
OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN TO MALAYSIA
6 OCTOBER 2025
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
1. Of course, is rare honour pleasure on behalf of my colleagues and the people of Malaysia, to welcome our friend brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, from Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Malaysia.
2. We had the friendly fateral relations since 1957 when we attained our independence, although you all of course, under Qail Azam, ten years earlier in 1947, but the historical ties cultural, educational, research, defence, has been established, and they have been expanding economic cooperation has been in the fore front from the beginning.
3. But our join aspiration is that we have to further enhance this collaboration in our field. We are in the period of joke, political uncertainties, so in the field of defence, agriculture, now digital, energy, are new areas including new technology which we can further explore.
4. I’m also happy to note that we do acknowledge the presence and contribution of your professionals, and workers from the beginning, and now here in Malaysia including your students in our universities and for those we have excel in their various field and the nearest specialization that will require, certain we will give preference for them to stay and contribute here.
4. Your of course passionate in few other issues, which you have seen my colleagues here collaborating, I think agriculture and agriculture, we have enhanced and increase that the import of your rice. That is an interest to import beef, meat into Malaysia, we will facilitate it of course, and as should I said, we have to assured the competitive price will certainly do what if necessarily even you mentioned up to USD 200 million worth.
5. You know, this brother of mine, I received him at the hotel last night, and of course he his brother, but he only politely suggested diplomatically way, he also harassed, but I think in a good way. So, I certainly welcome that, discuss with my team and we will certainly do that.
6. But he has also encouraged us to establish better collaboration in terms of STEM, ICT, innovation, TVET, digital, E&E, semiconductor.
7. And I think these are new areas. You know Pakistan among the Muslim countries were clearly far ahead initially in these field, and therefore that the potential is still there and now that we had secured stability in the country and we certainly would welcome further collaboration.
8. Now on the regional and international issues, we did discuss on issues hoping to establish peace in Pakistan-India subcontinent, which is important for us in the region, and our joint efforts and collaboration in terms of counter terrorism. I’m of course extremely appreciative of your stance and latest I heard in Doha on the Palestinian and Gaza issues; we joint this said that this Common Exhortation and Declaration without come concrete proposal to end this misery to the millions of people in Gaza and Palestine.
9. So, we jointly of course look at favorably 20-Point Peace Initiative by President Donald Trumph. Although Malaysia do express some concerns, but at least on the point of succession of the facilities, stop the insane bombing and killing by the Zionist Israelis’ regime on Gaza in particular, that at least is a clear position taken by the Arab countries and Muslim countries, and the most of the countries in the world now with the support and commitment with the United State, Insya-Allah we will achieve peace.
10. At the same time, access to humanitarian assistant, is eminent. I can’t really imagine, as you are said Prime Minister Shehbaz, that in 2025, after enduring so much hardship, we can still find people, woman and babies being bombed and killed and this is just totally insane as far I’m concerned. But, Insya-Allah we are on the right footage and our joint position in supporting this peace initiative would probably further help this desire to achieve durable peace.
11. And thank you again for all this honest doctorate you give, and translation of MADANI SCRIPT into Urdu language. Your translation I can’t comment whether the standard of Urdu is good, I’m sure you get the best translation of Urdu.
12. As we have done for some of the great work of Alabama Mein Iqbal, Hasanal khurdi, Nabit Lama, and the most recent of course ‘The Construction of The Religious Thought in Islam’, which I think this is one of the great scholarly contribution in this age with the latest annotations and at the same time I also suggested that the great documentary on the Alabama Mein Iqbal produced by I think, Akbar Ahmed, will be shown. So that people can understand not only the greatness of Quaid-e-Azam (Ali Jinnah) but also the ideas and the vision for the foundation of Pakistan. I’m talking the documentary of Ali Jinnah.
So, thank you again. Welcome to your second home.
