KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today attended a Yasin recital, tahlil and doa selamat at the National Mosque in conjunction with the 2019 Warriors’ Day celebration.
Also present was the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
On arrival at the mosque at 7.10pm Al-Sultan Abdullah was greeted by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and imam of the National Mosque, Tan Sri Shaykh Ismail Muhammad.
Among guests present were Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu, Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador along with over 2,000 civil service staff, government agency representatives and students of tahfiz schools.
Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah then performed the maghrib prayer and participated in reciting the Yasin, tahlil and doa selamat led by Shaykh Ismail.
Their Majesties then joined in the congregational Isyak prayers led by Syaikh Ismail before mingling with the crowd and making their departure at 9 pm.
