LANGKAWI, March 27 (Bernama) — Malaysia severely criticised the relentless attacks by Israel on Gaza yesterday, several hours after a rocket launched by Palestinians hit a house in Tel Aviv.
Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malaysia certainly must protest
against the terrorist attacks carried out by Israel against Gaza.
“The retaliation if they (Israel) carry out will certainly be even worse than what had hit Israel. That is the Israeli way, they are even more terror than other terrorists.
“If they (Israel) are hit, they will take even more violent action. I am certain this will happen, we certainly have to protest such an act, although we ourselves believe that violence will not resolve the problem there,” he said.
He said this to reporters when asked to comment on the Israeli attack on Gaza after receiving a courtesy call from several defence industry leaders in conjunction with the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’19) at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), here.
The international media reported that an attack hit the Hamas naval force in west Gaza and another hit a major Hamas training camp in the north of the town on Tuesday.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir received a courtesy call from the Korean Aerospace Industry chief executive officer Jo Won Kim, president of the Turkish Defence Industry Prof Dr Ismail Demir as well as Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Major General (Rtd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique.
The three courtesy calls lasted between 10 and 20 minutes at his office at the MIEC which discussed various matters concerning LIMA’19.
