HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS VISION 2020
INTRODUCTION

The Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, has sparked a revolutionary idea in giving emphasis to efforts to develop human capital as the basis of excellence of future generations. The future generation forms Malaysia’s most valuable human asset in the government’s efforts to realise a nation that is progressive, excellent, glorious and distinguished as we approach Vision 2020.

 

In realising this objective, the nation continuously works towards preparing its workforce to be well-equipped with knowledge in various fields including science and technology. Human capital refers to individuals who are knowledgeable, confident, possessing noble values and high morality, ethical, well-mannered, disciplined, dynamic, innovative, creative, healthy, patriotic, just, progressive, resilient and competitive. These are the human capital possessing distinctive personality. They are the ones who will determine the direction of the nation in the future.
