KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 2010 (Bernama) -- Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the prime minister, said Wednesday her husband Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was recovering fast from chicken pox but had to abide by certain restrictions, particularly pertaining to food.

"Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), he is recovering quiet fast. He is into the third day (with chicken pox) and the blisters have dried up," she said.

Rosmah said that as Najib was bound by restrictions pertaining to food, he could only consume rice, vegetables and soup and could not eat his favourite foods.

"People have advised that he should not be given anything fried and ketchup or his skin will begin to itch," she said when asked by reporters about the prime minister's health after she had officiated a talk on women and leadership here.

Rosmah said Najib had asked her where she was going when leaving for the function, and added that this was a sign that he was recovering.

"If he asks many questions and cracks jokes, it is a sign that he is healthy," she said.

Najib felt unwell when he was in Hanoi for the 17th Asean Summit and, upon his return to Malaysia on Sunday, was administered medication and advised to rest at home.
