Najib, Wife Donate To Improve Five Houses Of The Poor In Kedah | 06/10/2010

ALOR SETAR, Oct 6 2010 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor made a personal contribution to repair immediately five houses belonging to poor families in Kedah.

The chairman of the Kedah Federation of Peninsular Malay Students (GPMS), Zuraidi Rahim said the personal contribution was to assist the five families concerned who had school-going children, some of whom had to stop schooling due to poverty.

He said two of the families were from Kuala Kedah, another two were from Kuala Ketil while one family was from Pendang, and the assistance was to enable their children to study properly.

The Kedah GPMS had identified 200 poor families in the state who should receive aid and efforts to assist the first five families had attracted the attention of the prime minister and his wife who agreed to make a personal contribution of RM25,000, which came up to RM5,000 for each family, Zuraidi told Bernama, here Wednesday.
