KOTA KINABALU, July 17 2010 (Bernama) -- Associations of wives of Barisan Nasional elected representatives selected to host the All-Malaysia Wives of Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives annual gathering were today urged to organise it in creative ways.

Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is also the wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said this was to ensure the annual programme remained attractive to participants of the various contingents taking part in it, which also indirectly helped forge greater team spirit.

"Many benefits can be obtained through this programme, it is not only from the aspect of sports.

"To ensure the objective is attained, it demands a solid commitment besides continued cooperation from all parties and the association selected to host the event," she said in her closing speech of the PTIWRBNM 2010 here Saturday night.

Besides this, Rosmah also urged the associations to take the initiative to organise training clinics in badminton and bowling for school children as one of their responsibilities.

The annual gathering was held in Sabah this year featuring badminton and bowling in the four-day meet. Terengganu will be hosting the meet next year.
