Girl Guides Movement Raises Status Of Women - Rosmah | 07/06/2010

PUTRAJAYA, 7 Jun 2010 (Bernama) -- The Girl Guides movement plays a vital role in raising the status of women, said the Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

She said the knowledge acquired by Girl Guides would put them in good stead in helping women to improve their status.

The Girl Guides movement is not just a uniform activity but also a forum for women to nurture positive traits like loyalty, independence, discipline and knowledgeable.

"The knowledge acquired, particularly in strategic planning could help members devise programmes and activities at the district or branch levels," she said at a dinner hosted by the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia here Monday night.

Rosmah said the commissioners' conference of the association today delved into various relevant Malaysian women's issues.

Meanwhile, the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia annual general meeting will be held Tuesday.
