Rosmah Visits Hospital And School | 10/05/2010

PNOM PENH, May 10 2010 (Bernama) -- Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor on Monday visited Kuntha Bopha IV Hospital and Bun Rany Hun Sen High School, here.

The prime minister's wife was greeted on arrival at the hospital at 10am (Malaysian time: 11am) by the Cambodian prime minister's wife, Bun Rany.

Rosmah visited patients at the paediatric wards and presented gifts to them. She toured the hospital complex and viewed the facilities there.

She also handed over the Malaysian government's donation of US$5,000 to the hospital through the Kantha Bopha Foundation and was received by the foundation's deputy director, Dr Denis Laurent.

Later, accompanied by Bun Rany, Rosmah visited the Bun Rany Hun Sen High School where she was briefed on the school's history by its principal, Nget Sem.

The principal praised the Malaysian government for providing computers and training to the school through the Malaysian Multimedia Development Corporation (MdeC)

In her brief address, Rosmah welcomed smart students from the school to attend the Permata Pintar Summer Camp in Malaysia at the end of the year.

She also called on the younger generation from both countries to learn from each other including the cultural aspects to strengthen the existing good ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Bun Rany requested the Malaysian government to provide another 42 computers in order to benefit more students.

Rosmah, who is accompanying Najib on a three-day official visit to Cambodia since Sunday, replied that she would extend Bun Rany's request to the Malaysian government.
