Selangkah Ke Universiti Programme Good Exposure For Students - Rosmah | 06/04/2010
Untitled document KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 2010 (Bernama) -- The "Selangkah ke Universiti" (A Step to University) programme is good exposure for students towards facing examinations and excelling in whatever field they choose to pursue on completion of their secondary education, said the prime minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Rosmah, who is also the president of the Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Charity Organisation (Bakti), said she hoped students selected for the programme would be able to identify the field of study most suited to them when they pursued studies at the university level.

"Students in this programme will be imbued with the spirit to constantly strive to achieve good results in their examinations and go on to become undergraduates, culminating in holding a degree scroll with excellent results," she said when launching the programme at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Shah Arts and Culture Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) here Tuesday.

Also present were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and UPM vice chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Nik Mustapha R. Abdullah.

Some 400 secondary schools students from Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor participated in the one-day progamme organised by Bakti with the cooperation of the Higher Education Ministry and 14 universities.
