Malaysia Will Provide Medicine To The People Of Palestine - Rosmah | 29/03/2010
Untitled document KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 2010 (Bernama) -- The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), has sought medical assistance from Malaysia, especially medicine for chronic illnesses said Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor Monday.

"Among chronic illnesses that need medication are cancer, diabetes and heart ailments," Rosmah told reporters after receiving PRCS President Dr Younis Al-Khatib and Palestine Ambassador to Malaysia, Abd Elaziz Abu Ghoush, at her residence in Langgak Duta here Monday.

Rosmah said the list of medicines required would be sourced, prepared and sent to the people of Palestine through the Egyptian government.

To highlight the needs, Dr Younis said as an example, 370 kidney patients have died in the last two and a half years in Gaza because they could not undergo transplant operations.

"They also cannot get outside Gaza, even to Egypt or Jordan, for treatment or surgery," he said.

He said they were also unable to bring in medicine because they were too expensive.
