SMPKE (ICT)

DEFINITION :

Bahasa Malaysia acronym i.e (Sistem Maklumat dan Pengurusan Ketua Eksekutif) for Chief Executive Information and Management System. A decision support tool to assist chief executives in the Prime Minister’s Department in office management and decision making.

SMPKE was established on September 1984 and began its operation in the middle of 1985.

The establishment of SMPKE was intended to enabled the Executive users in the public sectors to have access on the information stored as well as utilizing the computers as a tool for management.

OBJECTIVES

• To create an integrated referral and office management system
• To enhance the capability of chief executives in the Prime Minister’s Department to access information and perform other management functions through the use of information technology

FUNCTIONS

• To provide adequate ICT facilities for all users to ensure optimum usage of resources
• To continually develop, enhance and maintain applications that meet users requirements
• To provide an excellent and effective user support / help desk
