KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 2012 (Bernama) -- The initiative by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in stationing its personnel at two shopping centres and a hypermarket in Subang Jaya is to help create a more secure environment for patrons there.
Head of Subang Jaya police station, Inspector Sulaiman Baputty, said the programme, launched last July 24 with the 10 policemen stationed at each premises, received positive reaction from the public.
He said the programme, carried out under the National Key Result Areas (NKRA), also help to create a merrier environment for patrons at Subang Parade, Empire Shopping Gallery and Carrefour Subang, as well as the surrounding areas.
"We received many calls from the public to congratulate the government for this effort, besides expressing their happiness with the security level at the respective premises," he told Bernama here Tuesday.
Sulaiman said policemen stationed at the premises, besides helping the security guards there, would also help patrol the area, especially the parking areas.
